World VTS Guide
The aim of the Guide is to provide on international basis, the shipmasters and other interested parties information necessary for navigating in a VTS area.
It is a free service to the end user (primarily shipmasters).
The World VTS Guide is a non profit organization. The Board Members comprise:
- IALA : International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (The administrator of the WVTSG)
- IAPH : International Association of Ports and Harbors
- IFSMA : International Federation of Shipmasters' Association
- IHMA : International Harbour Masters' Association
- IMPA : International Maritime Pilots' Association
IMO has fully acknowledged The Guide as reflected in A 20/Res.857, adopted on Nov 27, 1997
and MSC Circular 586Rev.1, June 16, 1999.
The Guide has also the active support of International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO).
All the above organizations fully recognise the important contribution made by VTS to maritime safety.
