General Assembly

General Assemblies of members are held at intervals not exceeding five years and, normally, concurrently with IALA Conferences. A General Assembly will be convened by order of the Council.

The General Assembly shall, among other things:

  • decide the overall policy of IALA;
  • elect the members of the Council; and
  • decide upon changes to the Constitution.

All members of IALA are entitled to attend the General Assembly and are responsible for their own travelling and accommodation expenses should they chose to attend.

Each National member shall communicate in writing to the Secretary-General the names of the persons composing its delegation to the General Assembly, indicating which of these is to be regarded as its principal delegate.
