When using the Wiki Search Engine (above) you should note that:
  • the search is not case-sensitive, so 'ATON', 'aton' and 'AtoN' all give the same result
  • the search engine operates on whole words separated by spaces or punctuation marks, so if you enter the word 'light', it will not return pages with the word 'lights' or 'lighting'.
  • * and ? are wild cards i.e. light? will return lights and light* will return both lights and 'lighting.
  • a search will only return pages that contain all the words in your search
  • you can search for an exact phrase using double quotes, so if you are searching for a term using the original IALA Dictionary numbering format e.g. 4-3-045 you should do an exact phrase search by enclosing the number in double quotes i.e. "4-3-045" to ensure a correct search result.
