To enable safe and secure global sharing of maritime information

while creating value for participants.

IALA Cloud Vision

To connect all relevant maritime information sources

with their relevant information consumers

and value adding service providers

IALA Cloud does

  1. connect information sources to agreed information consumers
  2. create value by providing access to global maritime data and associated value adding services
  3. include appropriate information security measures
  4. operate across political boundaries


IALA Cloud is

  1. capable of sharing a wide range of data types
  2. a gateway to value added services based on your data
  3. a highly decentralized technical framework
  4. residing in the Cloud
  5. capable of including thousands of participating nodes
  6. glued together by only a handful of centralized components
  7. paid for by the participants
  8. based on Open Source software


IALA Cloud is not

  1. a soap factory


The Cost is

  1. covered through contributions from all participants
  2. kept as low as possible


The Community

  1. IALA national members
  2. IALA industrial members (providing added value services)
