IALA Cloud Mission & Vision
Mission: to enable safe and secure global sharing of maritime information while creating value for participants. Vision: to connect all relevant maritime information sources with their relevant consumers and value adding service providers. |
Basic Principles
- All members are Service Providers as well as Service Consumers
- A Service Broker publishes all available services to all members
- Each member (data owner) determines the destiny of his data .e. who can consume his services
- A Security Broker ensures that members can only access services they are entitled to
- Members have differentiated rights
- All established connections are logged and can be audited.
The IALA Cloud
- connects information sources to agreed information consumers safely and securely
- creates value by providing access to global maritime data and associated value adding services
- includes appropriate information security measures
- operates across political boundaries
- is capable of sharing a wide range of data types
- is a gateway between its members and value added services
- is based on a highly decentralized technical framework
- resides in the Amazon Cloud
- is based on Open Source software
- is capable of including thousands of participating nodes
- is glued together by only a handful of centralized components
- will be paid for by the participants
- costs are covered through contributions from all participants
