Below you find some frequently asked questions in regards to attending the IALA Risk Management Toolbox Seminar.

I have to bring a laptop with me - how powerful must it be?

IWRAP will run on any normal (anno 2010-2012) laptop.

You will need administrative rights on your laptop in order to be able to install IWRAP on int.

If you have a choice, bring the one with the newest Windows operating system and highest CPU clock frequency.

I have a little Notebook running XP which is much more portable, but not very fast…

Well, slow CPU's means more time spent on waiting for IWRAP to crunch the numbers....

What operating system does IWRAP run on?

IWRAP is known to run fine on XP, Vista and Windows 7.

However with slower CPU clocks, data crunching can take longer time.

How will the IWRAP program and AIS data be downloaded onto the laptop?

We are hoping to have a FTP site available through WiFi at the venue through which delegates can download everything they need.

We also can provide the data on a memory stick.

Does may laptop need to have a CD or a DVD drive?

No, we have other ways of sharing data (see above).

Do we get a copy of the software to take away?

Yes, once the software has been installed on your computer you can keep it.

However the license to use the commercial version of IWRAP expires after some time (20-30 days or so).

If/when this happens your licens changes to the open free version of IWRAP with limited functional capability.

You can at any time buy a commercial license to upgrade your IWRAP to full capability.
